Baracuta G9 The Original Harrington Jacket
Brothers, John and Isaac Miller launched Baracuta after years of creating rainwear for brands such as Burberry and Aquascutum. Almost instantly their creation of the G9 was to become a success and by the mid 50's it was being exported to the US where it was seen as an essential in almost every Ivy League wardrobe. Recognition didn't stop there either - movie stars, sports personalities and musicians such as Elvis Presley, Steve McQueen and Frank Sinatra had all been sighted wearing the jacket on numerous occasions. Styling among mods, punks and skinheads was to follow, this sat in hand with the terrace classics era which to this day is still seen as the jacket of choice among these cultures where and it is appreciated for its versatility and undisputed style.
Up until 2013, the G9 had remained unchanged from when it first left the factory. This year Baracuta relaunched the G9 as a premium jacket under new brand owners, WP Lavori. They have now made a few changes, keeping all the iconic aspects of the original but introducing a slimmer cut and and modernising fabrics, bringing the G9 back to life. It retains all it's key features such as 'Coolmax' Fraser Tartan lining, 5-Point 'Umbrella' vent to claim it's authenticity, ribbed double button collar with tonal buttons and they are all still exclusively Made In England.
