Having undergone a degree in Graphic Design at the Musashino Art University in Tokyo, the Japanese born designer re-located to London 25 years ago to help further her skills and expertise. She went on to study Constructed Textiles at the University of Middlesex, this allowed her to develop new and innovative textiles for furnishings, scarves, bags and garments. Following her degree Noguchi decided to remain to London to further build her career, this saw her go on to work with infamous designers such as Tom Dixon, Paul Smith and Takashimaya New York, to name just a few.
Over the years her work has progressed to mix texture, colour and hand knit qualities, with influences from traditional knit patterns and techniques, such as fair- isle, Aran, embroidery and stripe. Sources of inspiration are diverse, from flea markets all over the world to paintings of De Chirico. Noguchi's aim with her expansive range of product's is to provide something both sophisticated and quirky, achieved through unusual juxtapositions of colour and texture.
