A Revolution In Air
The very first piece of footwear to feature a visible Air Unit and a precursor for future iconic designs, the Air Max 1 designed by Nike CEO and founder Tinker Hatfield marked a revolution in running footwear when the shoe was released on March 26th 1987. Twenty seven years later the shoe is still as significant as it was in 1987, available in store now and online here.
Highly regarded as "The Air Max" for it's forward thinking and innovative upper design, the Air Max 95 was the first of it's kind to stray from the more familiar silhouettes of its predecessors creating a whole new take on construction and silhouette. Featuring a visible full foot Air Unit, canvas tongue loops and small swoosh the Air Max 95 is available in store now and online here.
Released just this year the Air Max 2014 is the lightest from the Air Max range, infusing engineered mesh uppers with a full length articulated tubular Air Unit for ultimate comfort and flexibility. The shoe also features a waffle pattern outsole for maximum durability and traction, Nike+ technology and a 3M reflective swoosh, available in store now and online here.
Originally known as the Air Max III the name later changed to that we know so well today, the Air Max 90. It was the first Air Max to introduce the multi port lacing system which was one of seven molded parts on the upper partition of the shoe, along with a separated midsole into front and back compartments, which allowed for an increase in stability. Considered as one of the most timeless styles to leave the Beaverton HQ you can find the Air Max 90 in store and online here.
